Biology Major Advisory Committee (BMAC)

BMAC is a student-run committee of biology majors who advise the Department on its curriculum and related matters, as well as sponsoring a variety of social and biology-related activities. Members of the committee also advise potential majors and incoming first year students on course selections. The organization of the committee is overseen by their advisor, Matt Carter, but the operation of the committee is entirely in the hands of the biology majors themselves.

BMAC’s events include:

  • Wednesday Night Snacks – Join us in the Thompson Biology Lab every Wednesday night at 9:30pm.
  • Pizza Parties – in October and April.
  • Mountain Day – softball, kickball… come play on the Bio team against Chemistry!!
  • Staff table at the Academic Expo during First Days, along with Bio faculty.
  • Honors Open House – talk with students about doing honors research.
  • Involvement in the hiring of new faculty.
